A focus on production, rather than demonstrations

Software Factories Meet Production will take place on 9 September from 18:00 to 20:00 Pacific Daylight Time at Datadog's office at 50 Fremont Street. Participation requires approval, and no public price is listed. The organiser's page confirms the date and registration status. [1 · Event page]

The meeting is intended for developers of agent systems. Topics include coordination, validation, security and real failure modes that emerge when coding agents move from isolated demonstrations to working with repositories, continuous integration (CI) systems, secrets and production infrastructure. The most important questions

A production-ready software factory must check not only generated code changes but also the origin of the task, permissions, tests, dependent services and the ability to roll back safely. An agent can write syntactically correct code that violates business logic, security or operational constraints. [1 · Event page]

Specific failure scenarios have practical value: misinterpreting an assignment, making changes outside authorised boundaries, hidden dependencies, misplaced confidence in tests and secret leakage. The mechanisms for detecting and recovering from these errors determine whether an agent can work autonomously. [1 · Event page]
