Who the hackathon is for

Open Model Hack is intended for AI engineers, researchers and technical founders who want to test inference, fine-tuning and practical applications of open models. Participants can apply in small teams. [1 · Luma] [2 · tokens&] [3 · Nango] [4 · Gary's Guide]

The announced organisers and partners include Gradient, Google DeepMind, Lambda, Nango, Respan and tokens&. This line-up brings together model developers, compute infrastructure and integration tools. [2 · tokens&] [3 · Nango] [4 · Gary's Guide]

Time and participation terms

The event is scheduled for 12 September, from 09:30 to 19:00, in San Francisco. Participants will be given the exact address; entry is free, but capacity is limited and an application is required. [1 · Luma] [2 · tokens&] [4 · Gary's Guide]

Participation terms were checked again on 6 September. Before travelling, participants should verify their registration confirmation and the final address on the organisers' page. [1 · Luma] [2 · tokens&] [4 · Gary's Guide]

What the practical format can show

The hackathon's value lies not in the model list itself but in the opportunity to see which open solutions can already handle real tasks and where inference, fine-tuning or integration costs offer an advantage over a closed API. This is an editorial assessment criterion, rather than an outcome promised by the organisers. [1 · Luma] [2 · tokens&] [3 · Nango] [4 · Gary's Guide]
