How the product works

According to TechCrunch[1], NavigateAI is building a voice assistant for construction workers and other field specialists. A worker can show installed equipment to the camera on a phone or Meta glasses and ask whether it meets the design, required tightening torque or building codes. [1 · TechCrunch]

The company says the system consults project specifications, manufacturers’ manuals and internal rules in real time. On its website, NavigateAI separately describes three functions: visual documentation of conditions, guidance for specialists, and automation of documentation and communications. How the product reaches job sites

Founder Eric Wu told TechCrunch that the company was working with Meta to obtain approval for the glasses in environments requiring protective eyewear. NavigateAI is also working with AIM, a Meta-backed school for fiber-optic installers, to introduce future workers to the system during training. [1 · TechCrunch]

The startup emerged from stealth in May, raised $25 million at a post-money valuation of $225 million and named Elad Gil, Khosla Ventures, Fifth Wall, Lennar, Tishman Speyer and Helix Electric among its investors. Expert commentary

A field assistant operates in a higher-risk environment than an ordinary office chatbot: incorrect advice can affect safety and the cost of rework. The central metrics should therefore be recognition accuracy, the share of suggestions confirmed by a supervisor and reductions in defects following independent verification. The advantage may come from access to current drawings, instructions and a specific site’s change log, rather than the model itself. If the source documents are outdated, a voice interface will merely deliver incorrect advice faster. [1 · TechCrunch] [2 · NavigateAI]
